Read to Lead for You

Become the leader your own life is asking for.

Open workshops, a seasonal Women's Leadership Circle, and half-day immersive retreats — where great books spark honest conversation, a small circle becomes lasting community, and you leave with a clearer sense of how you want to lead.

The Read to Lead Difference

Most personal growth ends up back on the shelf — a book half-read, a resolution half-kept. Read to Lead is different: specific, memorable, and genuinely restorative — grounded in a great book, honest reflection, and the kind of conversation and community that actually change how you show up.

READ TO LEAD WORKSHOPS

A book club grows your reading list. This grows you.

Our book clubs are about the book. A Read to Lead workshop is about you. We take one powerful idea from one great book and, over a guided evening, turn it into something you can actually use: a clearer sense of how you lead, a skill you've practiced, a small shift you'll carry into your workweek and beyond. No book report, no homework — come as you are, and I'll point you to extra reading if you'd like to go deeper.

I lead each session myself — I'm Laura Guzman, a seasoned executive, founder of Book Society, and certified holistic yoga instructor — and build every one around a single theme like finding your voice, cultivating creativity, or having the hard conversation. You'll leave with at least one key insight, one new practice, and one thing you'll do differently.

THE WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP CIRCLE

For the season when you know something needs to change — and you're ready to figure out what's next.

I built Book Society during my own transition from the corporate world to something of my own, and I know how lonely that in-between can feel. The Women's Leadership Circle is the container I wish I'd had: a small group of women, six weeks together, and dedicated space to reflect, reconnect, and craft a plan for the chapter ahead.

This isn't a lecture series or a one-day reset. It's an ongoing, intimate circle where great books spark the questions, peer support keeps you honest, and my facilitation helps you turn reflection into a plan you'll actually follow. We move through a personal leadership arc — knowing yourself, finding your voice, and leading your next chapter — anchored in books like Playing Big and Dare to Lead.

Every cohort flexes to the women in it, whether you're navigating a career change, searching for better balance, or simply listening for what's calling you forward. You'll leave with a clearer sense of where you're headed, a plan you believe in, and a circle of women who have your back.

THE HALF-DAY RETREAT

An afternoon to step back, go deeper, and reconnect with what matters.

Once or twice a year, we'll gather for our flagship experience — a half-day retreat that brings the whole spirit of Read to Lead into one unhurried afternoon: a great book, guided reflection, a little movement and stillness, honest conversation, and the company of others doing the same work. Think of it as the deep end — more space, more time, and real room to hear yourself.

Arriving in 2027 — more details to come. Join the list to be the first to know.

Read to Lead Workshops are evenings built around a practice, not a book report — a single theme, anchored to a great book. This session, Creative Medicine, draws on Daisy Fancourt's Art Cure to explore why creativity is essential to our health, and how to cultivate it in everyday life.
