WDC at Book Society: An Evening of Conversation with Ellen Barker

Book Society is delighted to welcome the Women's Development Collaborative for an evening of wine, conversation, and good company.

The WDC is a network of women shaping the built environment — developers, planners, architects, financiers, public servants, attorneys, and students working across real estate development and the disciplines that surround it. Their mission is to advance women's leadership, innovation, and collaboration in building developments that sustain thriving communities.

This evening, they're joined by novelist Ellen Barker. Ellen began her career as an urban planner before spending years at large consulting firms as a writer-editor and data systems manager, and she now has four novels to her name: Nothing North of Delmar, East of Troost, Still Needs Work, and The Breaks. The conversation centers on Still Needs Work — drawn from her own life in Silicon Valley and Kansas City, it follows a woman laid off at a San Francisco conference…
